3. My Use of Generative AI
I use generative AI tools (such as ChatGPT 4.0) to assist with brainstorming, summarizing source material, and checking grammar. My policy for its use is strict:
- Human Control: AI is a tool, not a writer. I, a human editor, personally write, review, and fact-check every article. No article is ever published without my final editorial judgment and approval.
- No AI for Final Facts: AI is never used as a source for factual claims. All data and facts are independently verified from original, non-AI sources.
- Transparency: If AI plays a significant role in structuring an article, I will disclose it.
4. Sourcing and Integrity
- Sourcing: I rely on credible, verifiable sources for all reporting. If I use an anonymous source, I will only do so if their information is critical and I have rigorously vetted their reliability.
- Image Integrity: I do not use AI-generated images to depict real-world events. Any photo manipulation is limited to basic adjustments like cropping and color balance that do not alter the factual content of the image.
