House Fire in Port Augusta Under Investigation

A structure fire occurred on Huxtable Street in Port Augusta overnight, prompting a response from both the Metropolitan Fire Service (MFS) and the South Australian Country Fire Service (CFS). Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the blaze.

Details of the Incident

Firefighters were alerted to the fire by multiple emergency calls (Triple 000) at 1:26 am. Upon arrival, they found a single-story, vacant house fully engulfed in flames.

A combined total of six MFS and CFS appliances, along with twenty firefighters, were dispatched to the scene. Crews wearing breathing apparatus and utilizing high-pressure lines successfully brought the fire under control within thirty minutes, and complete extinguishment took an additional thirty minutes.

Investigation Underway

Fire Cause Investigators and SAPOL Fire Investigators are currently at the scene to investigate the origin and cause of the fire. South Australian Police are also involved in the investigation.
