PISA – Sixteen researchers from the Institute of Details Science and Technologies “A.Faedo” of the Cnr of Pisa have been included in the ranking of the most cited scientists worldwide. The result comes from the 2025 update of the database maintained by Stanford University and published by Elsevier, which analyzes millions of scientific profiles according to standardized bibliometric indicators.
“This recognition rewards the quality and continuity of our research,” commented Roberto Scopigno, director of the Cnr-Isti as 2019 and among the names present in the ranking. “Being present among the most cited researchers in the world means that our studies contribute substantially to the advancement of scientific knowledge, strengthening the reputation of the Cnr, Tuscany and our country in general as points of reference for excellence in the international context.”
Of the 16 researchers reported, 14 were included in the ranking for their entire career, 10 in the one referring to the last year and 8 in both lists. A figure that becomes even more relevant if we consider that the Institute has 105 structured researchers out of over 300 total employees: over 13% are thus included in the top 2% in the world, exceeding the international average by ten points.
The Cnr-Isti is the largest institute of the National Research Council dedicated to information technologies. It is based in Pisa and plays a leading role in the fields of artificial intelligence, computational graphics, software engineering, human-machine interfaces and space flight dynamics.
