According to an Indiana State Police news release, troopers from a Criminal Interdiction Unit pulled over a commercial motor vehicle traveling eastbound on I-70 for a commercial motor vehicle inspection. During the stop, the operating trooper observed that Singh was operating below industry standards. State police officials stated that the commercial rig was subsequently impounded as the investigation expanded.
Singh told officers he was transporting an empty trailer from Memphis, Tennessee, to Indianapolis, Indiana. Police did not immediately detail how that transport account aligned with the subsequent discovery inside the vehicle.

During the course of the vehicle inspection, troopers located several duffle bags loaded inside the semi-truck. The bags contained 277 pounds—or approximately 126 kilograms—of cocaine. Authorities calculated the estimated street value of the seized narcotics at roughly $3.8 million.
Investigators characterized the weight and financial valuation as indicative of a large-scale trafficking load rather than personal possession.
