F1: The Movie and KPop Demon Hunters Dominate 2026 CAS Awards
F1: The Movie and Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters were the major film winners at the 62nd annual Cinema Audio Society (CAS) Awards on Saturday, securing the Live Action and Animated Motion Picture prizes, respectively.
Awards Season Success for F1: The Movie
Joseph Kosinski’s racing drama, starring Brad Pitt, recently won Best Sound at the BAFTA Film Awards and is nominated for Best Sound at the upcoming Academy Awards next Sunday.Warner Bros. It will compete against Frankenstein, One Battle After Another, Sinners and Sirāt for the award.
KPop Demon Hunters Continues its Winning Streak
Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters, the streaming platform’s most-watched movie of all time, continues to perform well during awards season.Apple Original Films The film previously achieved a 10-for-10 sweep of the Annie Awards last month.
Television and Music Honored at the CAS Awards
On the television front, HBO Max’s drama The Pitt and Apple TV’s The Studio also received recognition, winning the CAS statuettes for Television Series – One Hour and Half Hour, respectively. Netflix’s Emmy-winning Adolescence was awarded the Non-Theatrical Motion Picture or Limited Series prize.
Two musical nonfiction titles were also honored. Becoming Led Zeppelin won in the Motion Picture Documentary category, whereas Billy Joel: And So It Goes received the trophy for Television Non-Fiction, Variety or Music – Series or Specials.
Special Honors Presented
Guillermo del Toro, filmmaker of Frankenstein and a two-time Oscar winner, received the Cinema Audio Society Filmmaker Award. Skip Lievsay, an Oscar-winning re-recording mixer for Roma, accepted the CAS Career Achievement Award.
