McIlroy will be looking to make a move in the morning wave on Friday.
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, two strokes ahead of McIlroy after the first round, is contending with a recent tendency to miss shots to the right. He will need to refine his accuracy to maintain his position on the leaderboard.
