2026 World Baseball Classic All-Tournament Team Announced
At the tournament’s conclusion, the All-Tournament team was announced, with votes coming from a global panel of broadcasters and media members who have covered the event, as well as official scorers throughout the 2026 World Baseball Classic. Here’s a look at the players who earned All-Tournament honors.
All-Tournament Team
Catcher: Austin Wells, Dominican Republic
Key stats: 2 HR, 1.086 OPS
The Yankees’ backstop had a memorable tournament in a Dominican lineup featuring remarkable star power. His biggest hit was a three-run homer in the quarterfinals that resulted in a 10-0 run-rule win over Korea.
First Base: Luis Arraez, Venezuela
Key stats: .308 BA, 1.059 OPS, 10 RBI
Arraez was a sparkplug throughout the tournament and even incorporated some uncharacteristic power. In a pool play win against Israel, Arraez hit two home runs, doubled twice and drove in five runs.
Second Base: Brice Turang, United States
Key stats: .364 BA, 4 2B
Turang might not have been as well-known as some of his superstar USA teammates, but he was a key cog in the tournament, recording eight hits in 22 at-bats.
Third Base: Maikel Garcia, Venezuela (WBC MVP)
Key stats: .385 BA, 10 H
The No. 2 hitter in Venezuela’s lineup, Garcia paced all hitters with 10 hits, none bigger than his game-winning hit against Italy in the seventh inning of the WBC semifinals. The young third baseman took home WBC MVP honors.
Shortstop: Ezequiel Tovar, Venezuela
Key stats: .471 BA, 8 H
Tovar didn’t start in Venezuela’s first game in pool play, but he forced the issue with three hits in his first start against Israel and recorded another three hits (two doubles) in a key quarterfinals win against Japan.
Outfield: Roman Anthony, United States
Key stats: .920 OPS, 2 HR
Anthony, who was added to USA’s roster after Corbin Carroll’s injury, made the most of his opportunity. The 21-year-old hit a pair of home runs, including the go-ahead homer against the Dominican Republic in the semifinals.
Outfield: Fernando Tatis Jr., Dominican Republic
Key stats: 1.238 OPS, 2 HR, 11 RBI
Tatis was the leadoff hitter for a dominant DR lineup, crushing multiple home runs, driving in 11 runs and taking six walks as the table-setter.
Outfield: Dante Nori, Italy
Key stats: 1.185 OPS, .400 BA
Nori was one of many players responsible for Italy’s shocking run to the semifinals, as he batted .400 and drove in six runs for the Italians.
Designated Hitter: Shohei Ohtani, Japan
Key stats: 3 HR, 7 RBI
Whereas Japan was unable to repeat as WBC champs, Ohtani certainly played his part to make it happen, hitting three home runs in four games.
Pitcher: Paul Skenes, United States
Key stats: 2-0 record, 8.1 IP, 1 R
Skenes dominated in both of his WBC outings, but his second start was his biggest, as the right-hander allowed a lone run in 4 1/3 innings in the semifinals against the Dominican Republic.
Pitcher: Logan Webb, United States
Key stats: 2-0 record, 8 2/3 IP, 1 R
Webb formed an enviable 1-2 punch with Skenes, essentially posting the same line as his fellow co-ace. Webb allowed just one run across 8 2/3 innings, won both of his decisions and struck out 11 batters.
Pitcher: Aaron Nola, Italy
Key stats: 9 IP, 1 R, 8 K
Italy needed a true ace-like performance for a deep tournament run and they certainly got it from Nola, who only allowed one run in nine innings across two starts.
