NYC Ferry Expansion Connects Brooklyn, Staten Island, and Manhattan
New York City’s ferry system is undergoing a major overhaul, with expanded routes and a new landing in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, set to launch by the end of 2025. The updates will link Staten Island to Brooklyn for the first time since the 1960s and provide faster, more frequent service along the South Brooklyn route.
New Routes and Landings
The NYC Ferry expansion includes revamped routes connecting Brooklyn to other boroughs, as well as the addition of two new landings. These are located at East 34th Street Ferry Terminal, East Harlem 125th Street, and MADE-Bush Terminal in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.
Staten Island-Brooklyn Connection
A key component of the expansion is the re-establishment of a ferry link between Staten Island, and Brooklyn. This will provide a new transportation option for residents of both boroughs and enhance connectivity across the city. The new Staten Island route will operate in two legs, first running to western Manhattan with stops at Battery Park City and Midtown West at Pier 79.

Ticket Pricing
A one-way ticket on the NYC Ferry currently costs $4.50. This price is set to increase to $6.00 in January, coinciding with the implementation of a new $3 subway and bus fare.
