An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 struck the Aegean Sea on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, according to the European Seismological Center. The tremor was also felt throughout Bulgaria.

The earthquake occurred at 9:08 PM local time (and Bulgarian time) at a depth of 5 km. The epicenter was located 22 km from the city of Nea Roda and 110 km east of Thessaloniki, Greece .

Aftershock Recorded
A subsequent aftershock with a magnitude of 3.9 was also recorded following the initial quake .
