Fréderique van Cleef Claims Co-Offensive Player of the Week

University of Iowa forward Fréderique van Cleef, from Asten, Netherlands, captured the Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week accolade following standout performances on the pitch.

Rutgers Garners Major All-Big Ten Selections

Rutgers University placed multiple athletes on the annual All-Big Ten postseason lists released by Rutgers University Athletics. Paulina Niklaus advanced to the All-Big Ten First Team in her second season with the Scarlet Knights. The Manheim, Germany native started all 15 games, recording a career-high seven goals and three assists for 17 points, which included two goals against seventh-ranked Iowa and a hat trick against Indiana.

Teammates Guillermina Causarano and Puck Winter secured Second Team All-Big Ten honors. Causarano, a forward from Salta, Argentina, led the Scarlet Knights offensively with 23 points on seven goals and nine assists. Winter, a back from Deventer, Netherlands, anchored the defense with a conference-leading five defensive saves, which also ranked sixth nationally and brought her career total to 21 defensive saves.

Freshman Recognition and Sportsmanship Honors

The Big Ten introduced an All-Freshman Team to highlight the league’s top first-year competitors, featuring Rutgers right back Anna Cogdell. The Badingham, England native started immediately upon arriving on campus, contributing two goals and one assist while earning Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors after a September win over Iowa. Additionally, Vicky Jure received the Rutgers program Sportsmanship Award, recognizing her contributions across 14 starts in the midfield.

Upcoming Postseason Tournament Schedule

Rutgers entered the Big Ten Tournament as the No. 4 seed, setting up a postseason opening match against No. 5 seed and seventh-ranked Ohio State at the University of Maryland, according to Rutgers University Athletics. The winner advanced to face top-seeded Northwestern in the tournament semifinals.
