The government increased the number of Beneficiary Families (KPM) for rice food aid to 33.2 million people. This means that the amount of rice that will be distributed will also increase.
Perum Bulog Main Director Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani explained that rice food aid was distributed for the period February and March 2026. One recipient received 10 kg per month, so if for two months they would receive 20 kg.
If the number of recipients is increased to 33.2 million recipients, the amount of rice that will be distributed will be around 664.8 thousand tons.

“So, from previously 18 million, now it is 30 million (recipients). (The rice distributed) Yes, just multiply it, 20 kg x 30 million (recipients), around 600 thousand tons,” he said at the 2026 Harvest Festival, at Taman Lapangan Banteng, Central Jakarta, Saturday (7/2/2026).
Rizal said the distribution process would begin in mid-March. This distribution is for February and March 2026. So each recipient will simultaneously receive 20 kg of rice.
“We are currently preparing, we have to prepare the sacks first. Our estimate (distribution) will be in March. In the middle of Ramadan to ease the burden on the community,” he said.
Quoting the official statement from Perum Bulog, rice food aid was also accompanied by the distribution of cooking oil aid. Preparation of stock to be distributed 132.9 thousand kiloliters of cooking oil.
Previously, the government planned to distribute rice food aid to only 18 million aid recipients. In this program, food aid recipients receive 10 kg of rice per month. This is a form of intervention and stabilization of supply for underprivileged communities.
