13-Year-Old Boy Arrested in Connection to Oklahoma Woman’s Death

COLBERT, Okla. — A 13-year-old boy is in custody in a Texas juvenile detention center following the death of a 31-year-old woman in Colbert, Oklahoma, on Friday, March 1, 2026. Authorities responded to a reported death at a home in the 500 block of Sims Road around 6:45 p.m., according to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI).

Details of the Investigation

Upon arrival, Bryan County deputies discovered the body of a 31-year-old woman exhibiting injuries consistent with homicide. Investigators quickly identified the boy as a person of interest in the case, issuing an alert through the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. KOCO 5 News reported on the ongoing investigation.

Apprehension in Texas

Authorities determined the boy had traveled south of the Oklahoma/Texas border. A multi-agency search involving the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Denison Police Department led to his apprehension by Grayson County deputies at approximately 6:30 a.m. On Saturday, March 2, 2026. He is currently being held in a Texas juvenile detention center.

Ongoing Investigation

The OSBI stated that there are currently no other suspects at large. The investigation remains active, and OSBI investigators will submit their findings to the Bryan County District Attorney’s Office, which will determine if charges will be filed against the boy.
