Compensation and Benefits
The hourly rate for this position ranges from $16.15 to $20.06, based on factors such as experience and education. In addition to the base pay, employees are eligible for:
- Safety Incentive Pay: $6.00 per hour
- Shift Differentials: 17% for Weekday Nights, 26% for Weekend Nights, and 15% for Weekend Days
Position Summary
Clinical Nursing Support staff assist in providing patient care, including wound care and splinting. Responsibilities also include maintaining a safe and clean environment, stocking patient care areas, and adhering to hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Patient care assignments may include Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric age groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist nursing staff and physicians with complex treatment procedures.
- Perform routine treatment procedures.
- Identify and assess clinical situations beyond scope and promptly notify a nurse or physician.
- Maintain record keeping and filing systems.
- Assist with equipment maintenance, calibration, and data compilation.
- Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Assist in the management of observation unit patients.
- Participate in educational programs and in-services for professional development.
- Follow patient safety protocols and report any concerns.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Experience: 6 months of directly related experience is essential.
- Language: Bilingual skills in English and Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo, or English and Spanish are considered a plus.
- Credentials: Current CPR for Healthcare/BLS certification is required within 30 days of hire, as well as a Basic Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) License.
Physical and Working Conditions
This position requires heavy work, involving the exertion of 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 25 to 50 pounds frequently, and 10 to 20 pounds constantly. Working conditions include potential exposure to tuberculosis, physical risks from combative patients, proximity to incarcerated individuals, and hazardous materials requiring personal protective equipment (PPE). A security clearance may be required as a condition of employment.
