TL;DR
* A leaker has claimed that Apple is testing a 5,400 to 5,800mAh battery in the iPhone Fold.
* This would be considerably larger than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7’s 4,400mAh battery.
* We’d encourage you to take this leak with a big pinch of salt, though.
We’ve known for a while now that Apple is working on an apparent iPhone Fold, which is set to take on the Galaxy Z Fold series. Now, a leaker has made a rather audacious claim about the Apple foldable’s battery capacity.
Korean blogger Yeux1122 has claimed that Apple is testing a 5,400 to 5,800mAh battery for its upcoming foldable iPhone. If true, this would be a substantial battery, dwarfing the expected 4,400mAh capacity of the Samsung galaxy Z Fold 7.
Of course, battery capacity isn’t everything. Software optimization and the efficiency of the processor play a huge role in battery life. However, a larger battery generally translates to longer usage times. It’s worth noting that the iPhone Fold is rumored to have a larger overall footprint than the Z Fold 7, potentially allowing for a bigger battery.
As with all leaks, it’s best to approach this data with skepticism. Yeux1122 has a mixed track record, and Apple’s plans can change at any time. Still, the prospect of an iPhone Fold with a massive battery is certainly intriguing.
