Bulgarian Woman sanctioned by U.S. for Iran Oil Embargo Violation

The U.S. Treasury Department has added a Bulgarian woman to its list of sanctioned individuals for violating the oil embargo against Iran. Penka Ivanova, from Rakovski, Bulgaria, is now subject to U.S. sanctions. According to the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) listing,her details are as follows: MADZHARSKA,Penka Ivanova,Bulgaria; DOB 08 jun 1977; POB Rakovski,Bulgaria; nationality Bulgaria; Gender Female; Secondary sanctions risk: section 1(b) of Executive Order 13224,as amended by Executive Order 13886; Passport 388702412 (Bulgaria) expires 23 Sep 2027; National ID No. 7706084516 (Bulgaria) (individual) [SDGT] [IFSR] (Linked To: NIROOMAND TOOMAJ, Elyas).

The US Treasury Department’s Office of foreign assets Control (OFAC) has sanctioned three Bulgarians and 64 related companies for their significant role in corruption in Bulgaria.

These sanctions are secondary, meaning Ivanova is prohibited from entering the United States and U.S. citizens are barred from conducting business with her. the reason for her inclusion on the list stems from her connection to elyas Nirumand Toomaj.
