# Donal Skehan Shares Recovery Update After emergency Appendix Removal
Donal Skehan has had quite the week, spending much of it in hospital after he felt pain while cooking Sunday lunch for his family.
the celebrity chef’s pain got progressively worse before he made the decision to head to the hospital on Monday and ended up having his appendix removed.
Donal,who shares two boys with his wife Sofie,has since shared an update on how he’s recovering days on from the op.
‘feeling much better today! The meds working a treat,’ he wrote on Thursday evening. ‘Had that first post op shower – always helps you come back to life!’
Donal has also been keeping himself occupied during recovery by answering fans’ queries about Christmas cooking dilemmas – never a day off, ey Donal!
Donal first revealed his health scare at the start of the week when he shared a photo of himself attached to a monitor, and captioned it: ‘A delightful start to the week – rushed into A&E this morning’.
Later, Donal revealed that he needed to spend the night in the hospital for an operation after doctors found that he was suffering from appendicitis.
