Politico reports that U.S. president Donald Trump is delaying an additional 10% tariff increase on Canadian imports.this decision follows Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney’s apology to President Trump regarding an ‘anti-tariff advertisement’ shown during the 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Gyeongju last month, which Trump appears to have accepted.
President Trump previously announced further tariff increases after expressing outrage over a broadcast advertisement aired during the Major League Baseball (MLB) playoffs last month.
The advertisement, produced by the canadian government of Ontario, featured edited content from a radio speech by the late former President Ronald Reagan, a figure highly regarded within American conservative circles.
