Ahn Hyun-min and Song Seung-gi Vie for KBO Rookie of the Year

The Rookie of the Year Award at the ‘2025 Cho-A Pharmaceutical Professional Baseball Awards’ – jointly established by Cho-A Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.and Daily Sports – will be a contest between outfielder Ahn Hyun-min (22, KT Wiz) and pitcher Song Seung-gi (23, LG Twins). Both players meet the KBO Rookie of the Year Award requirements and will compete at this awards ceremony,despite debuting in 2024 and 2022,respectively.

Ahn Hyun-min delivered a stellar performance this season. He played in 112 games, batting .334 (132 hits in 395 at-bats), with 22 home runs and 80 RBIs. He finished second in the league in batting average, trailing only Yang Eui-ji (Doosan Bears, .337). His OPS, combining on-base percentage (.448) and slugging percentage (.570),also ranked second at 1.018. After joining the lineup at the end of April, he quickly demonstrated his skill, even earning the on-base percentage title despite facing intense scrutiny from opposing pitchers.

Ahn Hyun-min also excelled on the national team.He hit home runs in two consecutive evaluation games against Japan during the K-Baseball Series following the season.
