2026: More Money for PTA with Children

In just a few weeks, the year 2025 will be history. With the turn of the year, some changes are coming. There will be more money for parents with children in 2026, as both child benefit and the child allowance are increasing.

It was only this year that mothers and fathers were able to look forward to having more money in their wallets. Since January, child benefit has been 255 euros per month per child, which is 5 euros higher per month than in the previous year. Now, the next increase is imminent. Next year, parents will receive 259 euros/month for their offspring.

As a reminder: Child benefit is usually available for parents of children under 18 years of age. The offspring must live in the same household, be looked after regularly, and the family’s residence must be in Germany, another EU country, Norway, Liechtenstein, Iceland, or Switzerland. The payment is self-reliant of income, so the amount dose not vary but is the same for everyone eligible.
