Danilo Gallinari Announces Retirement

Danilo Gallinari is ending his professional basketball career. The 37-year-old Italian forward officially announced his retirement, closing a career of more than two decades in Europe and the NBA.

“Today, with a heart full of gratitude, I announce my retirement from the career I always dreamed of,” Gallinari announced on social media. “It has been an amazing journey full of countless memories that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. Thank you, with all my heart.”

‘el Gallo’ ends his career after 16 years in the NBA, with 14 active seasons and two full seasons missed due to ACL injuries. Drafted 6th overall in the 2008 Draft by the New York Knicks, he became one of the most important Italian players ever, scoring 11,607 points.
