Epson to Invest EUR 6 million in Riga, Creating 150 Jobs

By investing EUR 6 million, Epson Europe will locate its operational center in Riga and employ 150 peopel.Riga defeated 28 cities from 18 European countries in the competition,Epson Europe’s operational director Rob Clark revealed in an interview.

Riga will become the main center for supporting Epson’s business operations throughout Europe. It will house staff in support and internal functions that do not focus on direct customer service, making the center a vital hub for Epson’s business operations across Europe.

Epson chose Riga – could you describe the main goals of the planned investment that you hope to achieve here?

Epson’s decision to establish operations in Riga is a long-term, sustainable development step that will strengthen our presence in Europe and promote the creation of skills, jobs and new opportunities in Riga and the Latvian economy as a whole.In addition to financial investments, Epson plans to invest in the people of Latvia, providing employees with health insurance, which also includes dental services, as well as clear career development opportunities in a dynamic, innovative and global company.

Before you made the decision in favor of Riga, what other locations did Epson consider, and what factors ultimately weighed the choice in the direction of Riga?

This was a very vital business decision and extensive research and study went into selecting Riga as the most suitable location for Epson’s new office. We analyzed 28 cities in 18 European countries.
