Washington DC – President United States of America (AS) Donald Trump announced his country had confiscated a tanker oil is very large offshore Venezuela. The seizure of the tanker has further exacerbated tensions between Washington and Caracas, and is also expected to trigger an increase in oil prices.
“We just seized a tanker off the coast of Venezuela, a large, very large tanker — the largest ever seized, actually,” Trump said while speaking at the start of a roundtable with business leaders at the White house, as reported AFP Thursday (12/11/2025).
“And other things are happening, so you will see them later and you will discuss them later with several other people,” he added in a meeting held on Wednesday (10/12) local time.
