Aurora she is just over a year old and has an enormous challenge ahead of her: she was born in September 2024 with a rare congenital malformation in her left leg which will prevent her from walking if she does not undergo a delicate surgery in United States. The little girl is without femur left, with the foot located at the knee of the other leg: a condition called CFD, an English acronym indicating congenital femoral deficiency, type 3C, so rare that no European center is able to operate on it.
The only possibility lies in Florida,at the Paley institute,where Dr. Dror Paley, one of the world’s leading experts in pediatric orthopedics, has already confirmed that Aurora can do it.
