Florida to Release ‘America 250‘ License Plate to Commemorate Nation’s Birthday

Florida is releasing a new “America 250” license plate to honor the nation’s upcoming 250th birthday. The commemorative plate will be offered as an alternative to the standard plate with no extra fees.The new plate will be available starting the week of December 22 when registering or renewing a vehicle.
In honor of the United States’ upcoming birthday, Florida is launching a new license plate: “America 250.”
The commemorative plate, which includes a red, white and blue “america 250 Florida” logo in the center, will be available starting next week, the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles said in a release Monday, Dec. 15.
“The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles is honored to give Floridians a meaningful way to participate in our nation’s 250th anniversary,” said Executive Director dave Kerner.”This commemorative plate reflects our shared pride in America’s history and is a symbol of our state’s connection to America’s past.”
The America 250 plate will not be a specialty plate, which comes with extra fees, the FDHSMV said. Instead, it will be offered as an alternative to the standard Florida plate for no extra charge.

The new license plate, which is white with blue lettering, with an America 250 Florida logo in the middle, “FLORIDA” on top and “IN GOD WE TRUST” across the bottom, was designed to honor the nation’s 250th birthday in 2026, the FDHSMV said.
