The scam, initially reported by VideoCardz after a reader shared their experience, involves receiving a package that outwardly appears to contain the ordered DDR5 RAM. However, upon closer inspection, the modules are revealed to be DDR2, weighted with metal to mimic the feel of authentic DDR5. This deception aims to exploit the meaningful price difference between the two RAM generations. DDR5 is the latest standard, offering substantially improved performance compared to the older DDR2 technology.
