American Airlines has announced new service from the Lincoln Airport (LNK), marking the second airline to expand offerings at the recently renovated airport. Travelers are advised to wait until Monday for the best prices on tickets.
New Routes and Ticket Availability
According to Lincoln airport Executive Director David Barth, trip tickets are currently available, but travelers should hold off on purchasing until Monday to secure the most favorable prices.
“Do not buy tickets yet — and that is something you will never hear me say as somebody who is in charge of selling tickets,” Barth said in a statement. “The sale is starting today, but you might get a little sticker shock, you might not be able to get nonstop yet, but Monday, you will. Let American get everything loaded into the system.”
Airport Expansion and Other Airlines
The new service comes after the Lincoln Airport completed a more than $50 million renovation and expansion of its terminal. The Lincoln Airport website details the improvements made to enhance the passenger experience.
Breeze Airways, a low-cost carrier, already began flights to Orlando earlier this month, with flights to Las Vegas and Los Angeles scheduled to start in April.
United Airlines currently serves Lincoln with flights to Chicago and Denver. More information on United’s routes can be found on their website.
