Smith Stunned at World Darts Championship

It’s been a shocking day at the PDC World Championship. Former world champion Michael Smith is out.

He lost 3-1 too Niels Zonneveld, a Dutchman who played a fantastic game. Smith joins Chris Dobey, Dave Chisnall, and Dirk van Duijvenbode as seeded players eliminated early. It’s a huge upset.

The 2023 champion had a chance to take the third set, but he missed a dart at double top. Zonneveld didn’t waste his possibility, sealing the set – and the match – with a double 10. You could feel the tension in alexandra Palace.
