Unused Multipurpose Hall Demolished in La Remaudière

The deconstruction of a 500-seat multipurpose hall, which was never used, has begun in La Remaudière, a town approximately 30 kilometers from Nantes. The project, costing over two million euros, was originally launched in 2013 under the previous municipal management.

“It was a multicultural room, with a performance hall and media library,” explained mayor Anne Choblet in a report by TF1’s 8 p.m. news program. She described the construction site as something that “should never have seen the light of day.”

construction commenced in 2013 but was halted a year later by the prefecture due to it’s excessive cost for a town of La Remaudière’s size. A TF1 team visited the abandoned site in 2023 before demolition began.
