For those looking for calm after the tumult of Christmas family meals, go to Ramier Island. From the Empalot footbridge, towards Fer à Cheval, pedestrian paths, sheltered from traffic and bordered by the Garonne, are available to you. This is the opportunity to discover the brand new green space built in place of the old exhibition center. Up to 5km shaded and green walk, with the astonishing impression of being somewhere other than Toulouse.

For new Toulouse residents, and those welcoming family to the Pink City for the holidays, here’s a 100% urban discovery route. Start at the Capitol Square, then head towards the Saint-Sernin basilica via rue du Taur, and the place Saint-Pierre – feel free to stop for a drink! – before passing through the dome of la Grave, la Daurade, les Carmes, and the Jardin des Plantes. Cross the footbridge to the Large Round and reach the square Wilson via the smaller streets.From there, you’ll have a great view of the city. It’s a beautiful walk to enjoy for an afternoon.
