Uni Baskets Fall to BG Göttingen 81-63

Despite a promising first half, the Uni Baskets could not maintain their momentum, losing decisively to BG Göttingen 81-63. The Münster team entered halftime with a lead,but ultimately succumbed to the pressure from the promotion favorites. The atmosphere in the mixed zone reflected the disappointment.

Götz Rohdewald, Head Coach of Uni Baskets: “We weren’t in the game for the first two or three minutes.Then we played a good first half and stayed focused. In the third quarter, we had eight turnovers in one quarter, which really boosted Göttingen, especially that unnecessary pass at the end of the third quarter with one second left, directly into their hands for an easy layup. We hurt ourselves and strengthened the opponent,and after that,we couldn’t recover.It’s a shame because we played two very good quarters at the beginning. The third quarter entirely destroyed the game for us. We were only nine points behind, even though we played an incredibly bad third quarter, but it felt like we were 20 points down.That’s how we played from then on. We need to play 40 minutes, not just one half.”
