Hanisha Jairam, a member of the National Democratic Party (NDP), has been designated as the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Suriname to New delhi, India. The Ministry of foreign Affairs, International Trade and Cooperation has submitted the necessary documentation to Indian authorities to initiate the agreement process, a standard procedure prior to finalizing the appointment.

Extensive Experience in Public Service

Jairam will succeed Arun hardien as the ambassador to India. she brings to the role a wealth of administrative and policy-level experience gained through years of service in both government and education. Currently serving as a district administrator at the Ministry of Regional Growth, Jairam also has a background as a teacher and has held board positions in various organizations.

Academic Credentials and Leadership Roles

Jairam holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (Finance) and has supplemented her education with training in policy, leadership, and governance. She previously served as the chairman of Canawaima, a key organization fostering cooperation between Suriname and French Guiana. [[3]]

While Jairam’s appointment signals a renewed focus on diplomatic ties with India, it’s vital to note her political affiliation with the NDP.
