Livorno Prefecture to Address Worker Safety During extreme Weather

Following a request from Senator Manfredi Potenti on December 20th, the Prefect of Livorno held a meeting on January 2nd to discuss worker safety during weather emergencies. prefect addressed concerns regarding hazardous working conditions adn pledged swift action.

The prefect announced plans to convene a discussion table involving all relevant stakeholders. This table aims to facilitate the development and signing of a memorandum of understanding. The agreement will focus on establishing safe working conditions when weather warnings are in effect.

“Recent events in 2025 demonstrate that extreme weather is no longer exceptional,” stated the Prefect. “These phenomena are becoming commonplace, and our territory must adapt. We must move beyond analysis and implement practical solutions through strong institutional collaboration.”
