The latest installment in the long-running *Gundam* franchise, *Gundam Hathaway*, continues to unfold with its second film, *Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe*. The project is helmed by director Shuko Murase, building upon the work of Yoshiyuki Tomino.
The story centers on Hathaway Noa, the son of Shining Noa, and his leadership of the Mafty institution as he wages a rebellion against the Earth Federation. The original novels,written by Tomino,were considered notoriously complex,leading many to believe a faithful anime adaptation was unfeasible. However,Murase's direction of the first film proved successful.
I'm eagerly anticipating the release of the second film in Japan on January 30th. It's also encouraging to see that Moriki Yasuhiro's mecha designs from the novels have been largely preserved.
