into Manga Conference Explores the World of Japanese Comics at the University of Turin
Turin, Italy – The University of Turin’s Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures and Modern Cultures is hosting “InTO Manga,” a conference dedicated to the art of Japanese comics, manga. Running until saturday, January 24th, the event gathers leading international scholars and experts to examine this significant cultural, artistic, and communicative phenomenon.
“InTO Manga” offers a diverse program including panels, workshops, and interdisciplinary discussions, catering to scholars, students, and manga enthusiasts of all ages. Attendees can engage with prominent figures in the field, such as Deborah Shamoon, a globally recognized authority on manga studies, and award-winning cartoonist Umezawa Shun, who will present keynote lectures and live drawing sessions.
The conference is organized with the generous support of the Japan Foundation and under the patronage of Aistugia – the Italian Association of Japanese Studies, and the Consulate General of Japan in Milan.
