Golden Knights and Stars Set to Clash in 2027 NHL Stadium Series
Teh Vegas Golden Knights and Dallas Stars will face off in the 2027 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series, set to take place at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, on February 20, 2027. The game is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. ET and will be broadcast nationally on ABC.
The NHL officially announced on November 3rd that the Stars would host the 2027 Stadium Series game at AT&T Stadium, revealing the Golden Knights as their opponent at a later date. This highly anticipated matchup promises to be a thrilling event for hockey fans.
For the Golden Knights, this will be their third foray into outdoor NHL games. Their previous attempts resulted in narrow defeats: a 3-2 loss to the Colorado Avalanche in the 2021 NHL Outdoors game at Lake Tahoe, and a 3-0 loss to the seattle Kraken in the 2024 NHL Winter Classic held at T-Mobile park. The Lake Tahoe game was notably played without fans due to the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Dallas Stars will be participating in their second outdoor game. Their inaugural outdoor experience was a resounding success, as they defeated the Nashville Predators 4-2 in the 2020 Winter Classic at Cotton Bowl Stadium, attracting a crowd of 85,630 – the third-largest attendance in NHL history.
Beyond the spectacle of an outdoor game, this contest carries significant weight due to the burgeoning rivalry between the Golden Knights and the Stars. As Vegas entered the NHL in 2017, the two teams have clashed three times in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, with the stakes reaching their highest point twice when a spot in the Stanley Cup Final was on the line. This history ensures a competitive and captivating game for fans of both teams and the wider hockey community.
