NFL to Return to Mexico City with Regular Season Games Thru 2028

The National Football League (NFL) will continue its international expansion with regular season games scheduled to be played in Mexico City through 2028. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced on February 3, 2026, that a game will be held in Mexico City in December 2026, with subsequent games planned for the 2027 and 2028 seasons.

The games will be played at Estadio Banorte,which is currently undergoing renovations in preparation for the 2026 FIFA World cup. The teams participating in these international matchups will be announced at a later date.

This commitment to Mexico City is part of a broader NFL strategy to grow its global fanbase. The league is scheduled to play a total of nine international games in the 2026 season, including its first-ever game in Paris featuring the new Orleans Saints. Additional international games are also planned for Melbourne, rio de Janeiro, Munich, Madrid, and London.

The NFL previously hosted a regular season game in Mexico City in 2022, marking a continued effort to bring the sport to new audiences worldwide.
