Apple has announced new SDK requirements for apps and games submitted to the App Store,effective april 28,2026. Developers must update their applications to meet these standards to ensure continued distribution through the platform.

The key changes involve minimum SDK versions for each of Apple’s operating systems:

  • iOS and iPadOS: Apps must be built with the iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 SDK, or later.
  • tvOS: tvOS apps require the tvOS 26 SDK, or a newer version.
  • visionOS: Developers of visionOS applications must utilize the visionOS 26 SDK or later.
  • watchOS: watchOS apps will need to be built with the watchOS 26 SDK, or a subsequent release.

These updates are crucial for developers to maintain compatibility with the latest features, security enhancements, and performance improvements offered by Apple’s platforms. Failing to comply with these requirements after the April 28,2026 deadline may result in app rejection or removal from the App store.
