Neil Young Cancels All 2026 Concerts, Including European Tour

Aged 80, the “Loner”, who was expected this summer in Nîmes and Nancy with his new group the Chrome Hearts, did not specify the reason for this renunciation.

“I decided to take a break and I will not tour in Europe this time“: Neil Young announced on Friday February 6 the cancellation of all his concerts planned this year, with his group Chrome Hearts, on son site neilyoungarchives. The tour, which was scheduled to begin on June 19, 2026 in Manchester (England) and ending in Udine (Italy) on July 26, had planned two stops in France.

Neil Young, aged 80, was announced with his Chrome Hearts on June 22 at the Nîmes Festival and on June 24 at the Nancy Open Air, with Elvis Costello & The Imposters and Charlie Sexton as opening act.

“Thank you to everyone who purchased tickets. I’m sorry to disappoint you, but now is not the time. I really enjoy playing LIVE and being with you and Chrome Hearts. LOVE Neil, be well“, adds the “Loner”, without specifying the reason for this cancellation.

Neil Young formed his Chrome Hearts in September 2024, a few months after canceling his tour with his loyal band Crazy Horse. This new group includes guitarist Micah Nelson (Willie Nelson’s son), organist Spooner Oldham and the rhythm section of his other side-band Promise of the Real, Corey McCormick (bass) and Anthony LoGerfo (drums).

With these four musicians, he toured Europe last year, and he notably headlined the Pyramid Stage of the Glastonbury festival, after initially refusing the invitation to the famous British open-air festival.

At the end of January, the American-Canadian singer and musician, critic of Donald Trump, decided to show his support for Greenland by offering full access to his catalog to the Greenlanders, in response to threats from the American president to annex this Arctic territory.

To have free access to the singer’s catalog, you now only need to provide a Greenlandic telephone number.“I hope my music and musical films will alleviate some of the undue stress and threats you are experiencing from our unpopular and hopefully temporary government”he wrote on his site.
