“Let’s take back the cities, let’s free the mountains“With this slogan, reported on the opening banner, the national event organized by the IOC, Unsustainable Olympics Committee, took place in Milan. Here is the long live broadcast of Saturday 7 February on Radio Onda d’Urto.
Against the “Unsustainable Olympics” and speculation on territories, cities and mountains, at least 10 thousand people were present in the square. In the evening the procession, behind the “know your enemy” banner, attempted to reach the Eastern ring road of Milan, stopped by a platoon of police with water cannons, tear gas canisters fired at eye level and chargeslasted about twenty minutes. Six people were stopped and reported for misrepresentation, throwing objects and resistance. All released in the evening, after protests from the IOC and the demonstrators who had promised to launch a garrison if the demonstrators were not freed.
There were no injuries, but Meloni wasted no time in attacking anyone who took to the streets: “those who demonstrate are enemies of Italy”, he says, in line with the package of repressive regulations launched in recent days by the Council of Ministers and that in fact, they criminalize anyone who sets foot on the street to protest.
