Elements of the Secretariat of Citizen Security of Baja California detained Francisco ‘N’ in Mexicali, identified as a high-profile target and wanted by United States authorities. The capture occurred on Sunday, February 8, as a result of an intelligence operation carried out in coordination with Interpol Mexico.
According to official information, the detainee had a current arrest warrant for alleged crimes related to organized crime and operations with resources of illicit origin.
The Secretariat of Citizen Security of Baja California reported that the operation took place in the city of Mexicali, after monitoring and identifying the movements of Francisco ‘N’.
Francisco ‘N’ was located in the Ex Ejido Coahuila colonywhere state agents carried out his arrest without any confrontations being reported. Subsequently, the detainee was transferred for medical certification and the integration of the corresponding folder.
State authorities indicated that the capture responded to a court order in force in the United States, a country that maintained a formal request for the location and arrest of the individual. Said requirement included the request for extradition in the event that the subject was detained in Mexican territory.
Baja California to three criminal organization subjects with heavy weapons
In recent days, the Secretariat of Citizen Security of Baja California reported on a security operation in the municipality of Tijuana which led to the arrest of three people in possession of heavy caliber weapons.
According to state information, the action occurred on February 3 in the Valle de las Palmas subdivisionafter a citizen complaint that warned about the presence of armed men.
Elements of the State Citizen Security Force participated in the deployment, in coordination with the Secretariat of National Defense, National guard and the State Investigation Agency.
The detained people were identified as Kevin Leonardo ‘N’, Jorge ‘N’ and Juan José ‘N’, who were carrying .223 caliber weapons, magazines and useful cartridges. According to preliminary information, the insured indicated they operate for a criminal cell with presence in different parts of the region.
