Delivery services – mainly for ready-made meals and beverages – short-term rental management and rooms-to let-businesses make up the bulk of emerging entrepreneurship in Greece, an analysis of General Commercial Register (GEMI) data has shown.
In the 2020-2025 period, 10,488 courier service companies were established.
In 2025 alone, 4,578 sole proprietorships were established by employees who deliver ready meals and work as partners on the platforms.
The number of food delivery companies came to 10,419, representing 1.78% of all companies in the country.
At the same time, the so-called ‘cafe economy’ continues unabated.
