Goyang Special City is publicly recruiting residents to appear in new content being prepared on its official YouTube channel.

According to the city on the 10th, it has begun recruiting representative players from our neighborhood to appear in ‘Dongdaedong (Our Neighborhood Showdown)’ in which residents of 44 administrative districts directly participate.

Dongdae-dong, which is scheduled to be produced as new content for the city’s official YouTube channel, ‘Goyang Special City’, is an entertainment program that goes beyond simple promotion to convey information and features actual residents appearing in the studio to introduce the charms of the neighborhood and conduct quizzes, talks, and talent competitions.

Dongdae-dong is held in a way that representative athletes from two administrative districts compete for the honor of the neighborhood based on similar themes such as cooking, history, and hobbies.

The city expects that this will be a new attempt to break the mold of existing administrative promotions with resident-participatory content in which the residents who know the neighborhood best become the main characters and compete for pride and individuality.

Appearing residents play the role of neighborhood spokespeople who reveal the unique stories and hidden charms of the administrative neighborhood where they live, eliciting viewer votes and comment responses.

Recruitment targets include those living in Goyang: ▲talkers who are knowledgeable about local news ▲talents who can introduce singing, dancing, cooking, etc. to the public ▲residents with unique backgrounds or hobbies ▲activists who have taken the lead in local community development such as merchants’ associations and women’s associations.

Residents who are confirmed to appear will be paid a small appearance fee, and support will be provided to minimize the burden of filming through prior meetings with the production team.

Through this project, the city plans to raise awareness of the local community by highlighting the unique assets of each neighborhood and the honest lives of residents and build differentiated communication content unique to Goyang City.

Hwang Joo-yeon, head of the video public relations team, explained, “The open recruitment of cast members is carried out without a deadline throughout the year, and there is no limit to one person per unit.” He added, “We plan to film a competition concept according to the recruited cast members and release one episode a month.”

You can take a photo of the QR code on the Dongdae-dong promotional poster with your cell phone and fill out the application form, or call the video publicity team of the city’s press and public relations officer. In addition to applying yourself, you can also recommend suitable people around you.

Meanwhile, Goyang City’s official YouTube channel recently surpassed 40,000 subscribers and is promoting various contents and city administration, including the ‘Telegraph Reporter’, a civil servant who sends monthly transfers.
