Washington Commons Peace Concert: Public Diplomacy Talk

The Washington Council of the Democratic and Peaceful Unification Advisory Council (Chairman Park Joon-hyung) held the ‘Peaceful Unification Public Diplomacy Talk Concert and Advisory Workshop’ at the Hilton Hotel at Dulles Airport in Virginia on the afternoon of the 8th.

The talk concert began with an opening speech by Park Joon-hyung, chairman of the Washington Council, followed by congratulatory remarks by Lee Jae-soo, vice-chairman of the Americas and the Korean Association for Democracy and Kim Deok-man, president of the Korean Association of Virginia, a topic presentation by Park Joo-yong, vice president of the Public Diplomacy Division, a talk concert, and a question and answer session. The concert was followed by an advisory workshop.

Chairman Park Joon-hyung said, “About 100 people attended the talk concert, including about 60 Washington advisory members and 22 steering committee members from the Americas, including the United States, Canada, Brazil, Central America, and South America,” and added, “We decided to carry out public diplomacy for peaceful unification according to each regional council.”

Meanwhile, the Americas Regional Meeting of the Advisory Council for Democratic and Peaceful Unification (Americas Vice-Chairman Jae-su Lee) held the ‘America Regional Executive Committee Workshop’ and ‘America Regional Steering Committee’ at the same location on the 8th to 10th. On the 9th, a seminar and the first quarter Americas region steering committee meeting were held under the theme of ‘American Public Diplomacy.’ Attendees are scheduled to visit the Federal Assembly on the 10th, visit the offices of lawmakers in each district, lay flowers at the Korean War Veterans Memorial Park, and also visit the Korean Imperial Legation.
