“Reducing” process
The investigation was opened for “dissemination, through an online public communication service, of a montage or content generated by algorithmic processing of a sexual nature reproducing the image or words of a non-consenting person”, detailed Beauvais public prosecutor Frédéric Trinh. Investigations have so far “not made it possible to identify the perpetrator(s) of the acts”, he told AFP.
Opponent or competitor within his own party, “I don’t know who it could come from, but I think it’s related to the municipal election”, Ms. Marais-Beuil told AFP on Friday, deploring a “demeaning” process, which attacks “the woman behind the politician”.
The mayor of Beauvais, Franck Pia (various right), who took over from councilor Caroline Cayeux in 2022 when she briefly became a minister before resigning due to an investigation into her assets, is also a candidate for municipal elections. In addition to the RN, it will be notably opposed to a very broad left-wing alliance including socialists, communists but also LFI.
