US Army Increases Presence in Ansbach, Germany with Arrival of Hundreds of Soldiers and Families

The US Army is bolstering its presence in the Ansbach region of Bavaria, Germany, with the planned arrival of 375 additional soldiers in 2026, accompanied by approximately 560 family members. This influx will increase the US military population in the area by roughly 940 people.

Expansion of US Army Garrison Ansbach

The incoming soldiers will be assigned to units already stationed at US Military Base Ansbach, including the 12th Combat Aviation Brigade, the 5th Battalion, 4th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, and the 1st Battalion, 57th Air Defense Artillery Regiment. According to a press release, active-duty soldiers typically serve a three-year term at overseas locations like Ansbach.
