IRONWOOD, Mich. – A 33-year-old man from Ironwood, Michigan, has been indicted by a federal grand jury for allegedly threatening to kill Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents on Facebook. Justin P. Ward faces federal charges for using interstate commerce to transmit threats to injure another person.
Details of the Case
The indictment, filed on February 2, 2026, alleges that Ward posted threats on Facebook, including images of weapons and comments suggesting he was preparing to travel to Minnesota to carry out the threats [1]. According to a federal complaint, the Facebook profile believed to be controlled by Ward, under the name “Wild Henry Gunner,” featured photos of him with a Mac-10-style weapon, a Russian Saiga rifle, and other firearms [1].
Posts allegedly included statements such as needing a “long distance relationship with a .308” and intending to “sit in a window and snipe some police and ice” [1].
Investigation and Charges
The case is being investigated by the FBI’s Milwaukee office, with assistance from its Eau Claire resident agency, as well as state and local partners in Minnesota and Michigan [3]. The Minnesota State Patrol and Saint Paul Police Department were involved in reviewing social media posts and tracking the account’s activity [1].
Gogebic County deputies initially alerted federal investigators while attempting to locate Ward on an unrelated matter [1].
