Judo Talent Selina Wögerer Wins Gold at European Cup, Qualifies for Championships

POREČ, Croatia – Selina Wögerer, 16, of ASKÖ Fairdrive Leonding, secured a gold medal at the Youth European Cup in Poreč, Croatia, on Sunday, March 1, 2026. This victory follows her silver medal from the competition in Samorin two weeks prior and qualifies her for the U18 European Championships and World Cup.

Dominant Performance in Poreč

Wögerer entered the Youth European Cup as the number one ranked competitor and lived up to expectations, winning all four of her matches with Ippon. This marks her second gold medal at the European Cup level.

Leofighters Excel at State and District Championships

The weekend was also highly successful for ASKÖ Fairdrive Leonding at the state and district levels. The club achieved remarkable results at the ASKÖ state championship on Saturday, winning a total of 18 gold, 11 silver, and 8 bronze medals, securing the top spot in the club rankings.

The Leofighters continued their success in the first round of the Linz District Cup, earning 19 gold, 15 silver, and 5 bronze medals, again claiming first place in the club rankings with a significant lead.
