Lancaster-Lebanon League Dominates Pennsylvania Indoor Track and Field Championships

The Lancaster-Lebanon League (L-L League) showcased its track and field prowess at the Pennsylvania Track and Field Coaches Association indoor championships held at Penn State University on Sunday, February 23, 2026. Athletes from the L-L League secured multiple victories and top finishes, solidifying the region’s reputation as a hotbed for track and field talent.

Kaddel Howard Sweeps Sprint Events

Cedar Crest’s Kaddel Howard delivered a standout performance, winning both the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes. This victory marks Howard’s second consecutive sweep of these events and earns her a fourth indoor state championship in the 400-meter dash. The University of Florida recruit finished the 400 in 53.03 seconds, a new meet record and a time that ranks among the top seven nationally. She likewise set a meet record in the 200-meter dash, finishing in 23.51 seconds.

McCaskey’s Ella Petrosky Claims 60m Title

Ella Petrosky of J.P. McCaskey High School secured first place in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.54 seconds, setting a personal best and ranking second in the state this season. Petrosky was a PIAA runner-up in the outdoor 100-meter dash as a freshman.

McCaskey’s Strong Team Performance

McCaskey finished second in the girls’ team competition with 32 points, trailing Penn Charter’s 40 points. Other notable performances from McCaskey athletes included:

• Corrine Miller: Fourth in the 200-meter dash (24.87 seconds)
• Carolynn Main: Sixth in the mile run (4:57.45)
• Ruby Garner-Valle: Sixth in the 3,000-meter run (9:54.49)

McCaskey’s 800-meter relay team, consisting of Petrosky, Miller, Alondra Grover and Damani Crosson, won first place with a time of 1:41.01, the best time in the state this winter. The Red Tornado’s 4,000-meter distance medley relay team of Main, Garner-Valle, Vivian Salerno, and Shiloh Tebie finished eighth at 12:18.23.

Additional Standout Performances

Ephrata High School also had a strong showing, with Sophia Rivera placing fifth in the shot put at 43-4.75. Rivera previously swept the PIAA outdoor shot put and discus titles last season.

On the boys’ side, Cedar Crest’s Travis Furmanski earned a silver medal in the 3,000-meter run, finishing in 8:23.46. Furmanski was the PIAA Class 3A cross country champion in the fall.

Ephrata secured three top-eight finishes: Aaron Young was fourth in the long jump at 23-2.5, Ryder Newlin was eighth in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.25, and Toby Barrett was eighth in the triple jump at 44-8.5. Penn Manor’s Ethan Kloppmann and Cedar Crest’s Cam Tirado tied for fifth in the high jump at 6-5. Hempfield’s Will Newport finished seventh in the pole vault at 14-0, achieving a personal best.

McCaskey’s 3,200-meter relay team of Leudy Diaz, Benjamin Gillespie, Thomas Ardia and Tyran London placed seventh at 7:55.78. Haverford School won the boys team competition with 41 points.
