Floyd Mayweather to Face Mike Zambidis in Athens Exhibition Bout
Floyd Mayweather Jr. Has confirmed a June 27, 2026, exhibition boxing match against Greek kickboxing legend Mike Zambidis at the Telekom Center in Athens, Greece.1 This bout adds to Mayweather’s busy 2026 schedule, which already includes exhibitions against Mike Tyson and a professional rematch with Manny Pacquiao.
Zambidis: A Kickboxing Icon
Mike Zambidis, nicknamed “Iron Mike,” is a highly decorated Greek kickboxer with a career record of 157 wins (87 by knockout) and 24 losses.12 He holds 18 world titles and competed in multiple K-1 MAX tournaments, achieving third place finishes in both 2010 and 2012.1 His last professional fight was in 2015.
Mayweather’s 2026 Schedule
This exhibition against Zambidis falls between two other confirmed fights for Mayweather in 2026. He is scheduled to face Mike Tyson in April, reportedly in Africa, and will then compete in a professional rematch against Manny Pacquiao on September 19 at the Sphere in Las Vegas, streaming live on Netflix.13 Pacquiao initially wanted the rematch to be a sanctioned professional bout, refusing Mayweather’s preference for an exhibition.
Event Details
The fight in Athens is dubbed “Battle of the Legends” and will be held at the OAKA Olympic Complex, the site of the 2004 Athens Summer Games.2 The event will also feature two world title bouts with international fighters and live entertainment.2 Tickets will be available through Ticketmaster, with pricing and on-sale dates to be announced.2
Staying Active Before Pacquiao
The matchup with Zambidis is seen as a way for Mayweather to remain active and sharp in preparation for his professional rematch with Pacquiao.1 Mayweather has been actively participating in exhibition bouts since retiring from professional boxing after defeating Conor McGregor in 2017.
