This twelve-month curriculum is designed for graduating nursing students from accredited institutions, offering a comprehensive training experience across a wide range of healthcare settings.

Responsibilities of a Registered Nurse at HMH

Registered Nurses at Hackensack Meridian Health are responsible for:

• Delivering nursing care based on the latest evidence-based research, policies, and standards.
• Communicating effectively with patients, colleagues, and the healthcare team regarding patient status and treatment plans.
• Administering medications using advanced bar-scanning and documentation technologies.
• Documenting patient assessments, care plans, interventions, and evaluations electronically.
• Providing patient and family education to promote health, wellness, and disease management.
• Collaborating on multidisciplinary discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition of care.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants to the New Graduate Nursing Residency Program must meet the following criteria:

• Possess a New Jersey Nursing license prior to the program start date.
• Hold a current CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Have a degree in Nursing (AAS, BS, or MS).
• Demonstrate a strong ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs.
• Exhibit a strong sense of accountability for improving patient lives.
• Show exceptional teamwork skills.

New RNs hired without a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) are required to obtain a BSN within three years of employment.

Compensation and Benefits
